Booking a course place
To book a course place please use the menu. The menu is available next to the log in button in the top right of the Home page.
Click on 'Book a place on a course' in the left hand menu column.
This will bring up a dates and venues list. Use the drop-down to choose the course you would like to attend.
It is also possible to search by a city or town.
A full list of courses dates and venues will appear for your chosen course type.
To book a course place at a centre other than ALSG Manchester you will be given an email address and/or a telephone number to contact the course co-ordinator directly.
For course at ALSG Manchester, you will be given a link to book directly on our website and pay via PayPal. Your course place is then secured.
Enrolling onto a course: non ALSG Manchester candidates
As a candidate, initially, you will not be attached to any courses, unless you have previously attended an ALSG course and you are using the same log in account.
The course organiser from the centre where you are attending the course should have provided you with an enrolment key to enter the course page. If this is not the case, please contact them. If you have your enrolment key, you can proceed to enrol onto the course by opening the menu in the top right of the page and clicking on the appropriate link under 'Enrol on a course' in the left hand column.
You will see a list of courses for that course type. Find your course centre and date; they are in alphabetical order by centre name, or you can use the search box at the top of the list. Please note you should search using the format dd/mm/yyyy.
Click on the course page and you will be asked for the enrolment key you received from the centre. Type it in, all uppercase.
You will then see your course page. This page contains everything you need to do your pre-course work and to collect your completion certificate.
Once you are enrolled onto the course page and are returning to the site, a list of courses you are enrolled on can be viewed by clicking on the 'Access my course page' in the left hand column of the menu.

How do I access the candidate e-modules?
Depending on the type of course you are attending there may be topics, assessments, MCQs and a feedback questionnaire. You must complete everything that appears in he pre-course section of your course page prior to attending the face to face course. If you do not complete your pre-course work you would only be allowed to attend the course as an observer.
How do I download my certificate after a course I have attended?
Your completion certificate is available to download from your course specific page. The centre need to complete their post-course returns before it will be available to you. You will need to have passed the course and have completed the post course feedback questionnaire.
If your certificate is still not available, it is also worth checking that all of your pre-course work is complete, as this also locks the certificate. Completion ticks for all e-modules and assessments and a score of at least 80% in MCQs.
How much does a course cost?
I am using a Mac and having trouble viewing the topics
As a last resort try downloading Firefox for Mac and then the Adobe flash plug in.
I can't launch the e-modules into my internet browser
If using Internet Explorer 9:
I can't view the e-modules after launching?
If the e-modules content is not displayed, the most likely reason is that you do not have the Flash Player plug in installed, or you may have an older version of the Flash Player. If this is the case, a message will be displayed in the browser window instructing you to visit the Flash Player download site to get the latest version, see below:
http://www.adobe.com/products/Flashplayer
We recommend that you always have the latest version of the player installed. Alternatively you may receive a message saying that your Flash Player has blocked access to the content. To change your Flash Player security settings, follow these steps:
In your browser, go to:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/Flashplayer/ help/settings_manager04.html.
This launches the Global Security Settings panel on the Adobe/Macromedia website, which controls the security settings of Flash Player on your PC.
I didn't pass an element of the course, what do I do now?
If you did not pass your post course MCQ, you have 6 weeks to re-sit. This must be done at a centre with a co-ordinator but doesn't have to be during a course as the re-sit is done online.
For all other aspects of the course, you will need to attend during a course. We therefore give you six months to complete this. To re-sit any aspect of your course, please contact your course centre.
