The Facilitation course provides the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by instructors on the Child Protection Recognition and Response (CPRR) course and the Acute Psychiatric Emergencies (APEx) course.
The programme focuses specifically on an approach to group facilitation and debrief that is appropriate for the nuances and complexities of CPRR and APEx courses.
The GIC aims to teach the principles of adult learning. The course includes key note sessions, demonstrations and practice sessions in all six modalities of teaching and assessment required for life support training; lecture and presentation skills, skills teaching and assessment, teaching simulations, facilitating small groups and simulation assessment.
There are two ways the GIC course is delivered:

Traditional 2-day face-to-face course

Remotely enhanced course - half day of remote learning and 1-day face-to-face
Both include an additional one day flexible online component through the LMS.
